I am so impressed with the work of Dana Tanamachi! The idea of using chalk conjures ideas of imprecision and temporal-ness. But she has gone to create so much perfect-ness and invested so much love into each piece of work that makes one worried about accidentally rubbing it off!
I think the art that most makes us aware of transience are the kind that will get destroyed after a certain [short] amount of time, like the Indian intricate powder-art Rangoli that's made on the floor, and will last maybe 1-2 days. Makes us think about why things need to be so precious sometimes, when all there is to life is its beauty and its fleetingness.
