sweet dreams are made of these
as a kid, i was only allowed 2 sweets a day by my mom. since i was looked-after in the daytime by my grandma, i usually bolted as many as i could, even without my grandma's knowledge.
i remember my favourite magnolia (or meadow gold?) pop-up ice cream as a kid, where one's rate of eating was NOT determined by the rate of melting. being the slowest eater of all time, i usually ended up with only about 30% of a popsicle while the rest melted/evaporated into the sweltering heat of singapore.
sweets are different from food, obviously, in a separate category on its own. it could be a reward, or an incentive, or a gift for various occasions (or for no special reason at all!). was very taken in by these sweets developed by a group of students in germany. especially noobs (pictured above) and pop-ups.
now, i've got a soft spot for sweets/ice-creams that are made to look like something else. or too decorated. i mean, it's one thing to be hungrily devouring a bar of fruit-and-nut choc, but it's another to be biting savagely at the head of a chocolate easter bunny, or tearing a gummy bear apart, or gnawing at the tails of sugar mice. sometimes if a sweet looks too pretty, consuming it would be a difficult task indeed!

i like to bite the head off first when i eat the gummi bears heheehehe then the arms....
fat fingers: it traumatised me too much that i used to just pop the whole bear in my mouth. now that i've been to the dark side, i'll bite of 1 hand at a time, then the legs, leaving the head till the last so it'll lengthen the time of suffering! mwahahahah.... be warned!!!!
Hello limegreenspyda!!! i got a blog of my own!!! haha

Do leave you comments ya?
How is it over there... how is your room-mate?
Fat-Boy
i hate to eat chocolate bunnies because i love bunnies and yet they look so dark (dark choco bunnies) and i can anticipate the bitter sweet taste on my tongue and i devour them all the same, head first because im afraid to hesitate further!
fatfingers, me too... I love gummy bears. I also like to dissect them with my mouth...heh heh.
I don't eat them anymore. Couldn't afford that much sugar in my mouth. ... I hate visiting the dentist!
fatboy: wow! have gone to your blog! it's pretty cool! good going! come again soon!
twit: it's best not to prolong the suffering *nods sagely*
anna: there are gummies made of natural fruit juices... not nearly as sinful! i hate the smell at the dentist's too, which i can smell from quite far away.
i'm for crunchie (that golden wrapping from cadbury)
and blackforest cadbury bock
=)
Aiyo. Those noobs are too cute. Especially in the box. How come these simple things...just a dome and two eyes (at least I think they're meant to be eyes?)...can have so much character ar?
ka chuaz: is crunchie like violet crunch? i used to like that a lot. but hate getting it stuck between my teeth! love that honeycomb centre!
maoie: i think it's the eyes that give [even the simplest] things character. like hello kitty! no mouth! or... yeah, you'd imagine the thing/sweet being able to see, and thus to feel, so you'll feel bad eating an 'equal'.
There was one tour where they sold Dir en grey candy. It was lego man versions of the band members and sooo cute! Who will eat? And what if they melt? Aiieeee!
yup yup. similiar to violet crunch. haha. have the same problem too.
maoie: aaaah!!!!! lego man DEG candy?? why didn't you buy!??!!!!
ka chuaz: you have just made me crave a crunchie. :)
