weird-ass toilet
for all the little boys out there who want a glimpse of the little girls' room, here it is!
dazed by the visual overload of PINK!, my pee abated for awhile.
good thing the tampon dispenser was orange, or we'd have missed it completely.
it was too perfect not to take a photo of.
this is at the union house (theatre?) at the uni of melbourne.
talk about gender stereotypes.
wonder if the little boys' room is a room's worth of blinding cyan?
guess what colour the door is?
stay inside for too long, and you'll lose your way to the door, too.

Goodness! I've actually been into that toilet before. It's not often you see a toilet you've been to on someone's blog. I'm an alumnus at unimelb so I'm not being too weird here.

ondine: over at rmit, the toilets get really boring. the only thing i liked to notice is the graffiti/stickers behind the cubicle door.
but there's a nice one i'd go to (if nature and time permit) over at the gaol building. feels like a time warp over there, or as if i'm in some soviet pre-war building. but, nice.
fat fingers: which is worse: skid marks or shocking pink walls surrounding you? haha!

i like your post about your cello and muisc.. i've been learning the bflat clarinet for the past 8years and this year, I'm having my yr 12 exams.. So yea. Stopped but I hope to continue!
and... do you know anything about cello rock music? cause I think it's the coolest ever!! hahaha :P
pat: are you, by any chance, a fan of rasputina? :) wow! the clarinet! the only wind instrument i can play... is... uh... the recorder! haha! soprano, alto and tenor recorders, though. had to take that as an elective sometime ago.

well, fair enough.. I can't play string instruments because I have long nails plus short and fat fingers! haha!!
well, I'm not really exposed much to cello rock music but I've heard of them before.. and I likeee apocalyptica..

my fren once stayed in the ladies room below New Asia Bar for a good 20 mins cos' she was so intrigued by the luxury of the restroom which comes complete with a couch.
for the more accomplished woodwind instrument players out there, erm i've got a question, i can only play the recorder and after all these years, i've still been struggling to find out how to go to the 2nd octave without sounding shrill. i tried by covering the bottom hole with half my thumb, is there any other way?
pat: don't you need short fingernails to play the clarinet too?
i dunno much about rock bands with classical (ie. traditional western orchestral) instruments, really. i'll check out apocalyptica... :) and nine inch nails is always good in terms of sounds! so what else is new, eh?

pangster: blue toilets. hmmm. that can get a bit creepy, i think.
virgin undergrad: i think it's about breath control. covering the top hole (at the back) with half your thumb is perhaps the only way to get the pitch an octave up, if i remember rightly. to reach the higher registers, use a sopranino recorder - it's really small, about the size of a picolo.
I haven't actually been in there since last year when it was not pink yet.
Might miss the graffiti though, reading it was actually pretty entertaining while one did one's business.

having long fingernails helps with being able to reach all keys and of course the movement of our fingers have to be fast too! and naaa. we don't need short finger nails to be able to play! (:
