i heart severus snape
harry potter and the half-blood prince is out this july! wonder how it's like in melb... will there be ppl dressing up and queuing up in front of the bookshop or at platform 9-and-3/4s at the flinders street train station or what. apparently there's a collection of essays written on 'the reading of harry potter' and these are undertaken by professionals in their fields of psychology, politics, english lit, etc! it's amazing how ppl are actually analysing the books! anyways i actually read the collection of essays from end to end! didn't draw the connections before, but these books could relate so many ways! was imagining these decrepit adult professors or professionals reading these so-called children's books in order to analyse them!
they must be over-theorising. sure, it is important to speak to your audience, but trying to pry jk rowling's mind open just from her work is being too one-sided. an individual is a much more complex kreacher than that. still, it is amazing to know how far-reaching a good story is.
so it's hard to imagine that in 2 bks' time, the series will end! better to wrap things up when they're hot than to have an ongoing days of their lives.

harry potter shd be somesort of an ambassorder for muggles in the world of might and magick. hor hor.
hp lives the life that we would love to live in and then we lose ourselves in them and allow us to dream, just like enid blyton. i heart all authors who hold childish dreams with reverie.

1 twit: yeah, recently had a craving for the faraway tree... and i'm trying to get my hands on the malory towers series again. somehow i think i have an alter ego that actually likes boarding schools (though i KNOW i won't survive in one...)

oh man you should have told me! bras basah had this sale going on. 3 books for 5 dollars and i saw malory towers there. you could have gotten the entire series! and by the way, i had the entire malory towers and st. clare's, you can borrow them if you cant find them. I never say no to an Enid Blyton enthusiast :P
1 little twit: wah! i miss bras basah!! need to get books books and MORE BOOKS!!!! next time when i get back i'll wanna look for the malory towers books! or borrow from you! i like the protagonist, darell rivers from malory towers more than the twins from st clares... you still have your set?? i only have the faraway tree series with me, that's all! sigh...
